AC Drain Line Repair Cost in Tampa Bay

A clogged AC condensate drain line is one of the most common service calls we run in Tampa, and for good reason. Your air conditioner pulls gallons of water a day out of our humid air, and that water drains out through a PVC condensate line. In our climate, algae and mold grow in that line constantly from May through October, and when it clogs, the water backs up. Best case, a safety float switch shuts your AC off. Worst case, the drain pan overflows into your ceiling. Here is where Tampa Bay pricing typically lands in 2026, with FREE diagnosis on every call.

• Standard drain line clearing: $145 to $245. We clear the clog with a wet/dry vacuum and a flush, treat the line to slow algae regrowth, and confirm proper drainage.
• Drain line repair or rerouting: $245 to $495 when a section is cracked, improperly sloped, or poorly routed and needs to be rebuilt.
• Condensate float switch installation: $145 to $295. The safety switch that shuts the AC off before an overflow floods your ceiling. Cheap insurance every Tampa home should have.
• Condensate pump replacement: $245 to $445 for homes where the air handler is below the drain point and needs a pump to push water out.
• Full drain line replacement: $395 to $695 when the line is too far gone to clear and repair.
• Secondary drain pan installation: quoted after inspection, for attic air handlers that need overflow protection.

FREE estimates and FREE diagnosis on every visit. No diagnostic fee.

Every drain service we do includes the FREE diagnosis, clearing the clog, flushing the full line, treating it to slow algae regrowth, checking the float switch and pan, and confirming the system drains properly before we leave. We carry the parts to add a float switch or replace a condensate pump same-day if you need it.

To prevent repeat clogs, we recommend pouring a cup of distilled white vinegar down the drain access every month or two during cooling season, which slows the algae. Better still, our maintenance plan includes a drain treatment and inspection twice a year, so the line gets cleared before it clogs and shuts you down in the middle of a Tampa August. Members also get priority same-day scheduling and reduced repair pricing.

If your air handler is in the attic and you do not have a secondary drain pan or a float switch, ask about adding them. The cost is small compared to repairing a ceiling that a condensate overflow soaked through. Same-day service across Tampa Bay, FREE estimates and FREE diagnosis on every visit. Call (813) 343-2212.
