What we do with gas lines
New lines for new appliances, extensions when you remodel, and repairs when a line leaks or fails a test.
New gas lines
A line to a new gas range, dryer, water heater, tankless water heater, furnace or pool heater, or a line run when you switch an appliance from electric to gas.
Gas line repair
We find the leak, replace the bad section or fitting, and pressure test the line before the gas goes back on.
Shut-off valves and connectors
Old flexible connectors and stuck shut-off valves are replaced, so each appliance can be turned off on its own.

The per-foot price is for laying the pipe. A short base charge for the job, trenching, cutting concrete and other access work are listed on your written quote. We open what we need to reach the line but do not patch concrete, drywall or tile afterward.

Gas in Tampa Bay homes
Natural gas comes from the utility on many streets, and propane serves homes where there is no gas main.
- Natural gasMost of our gas work is natural gas, which Peoples Gas delivers in much of Tampa Bay. The utility owns the meter; the lines from the meter to your appliances are yours.
- PropaneWhere there is no gas main, homes use propane. Your propane supplier sets and fills the tank, and we run and repair the lines from it to your appliances.
- Electric to gasSwitching to a gas tankless water heater or a gas range usually needs a new line sized for the appliance. We size it so every appliance on the line still gets enough gas.
- If you smell gasDo not switch lights or appliances on or off. Leave the house, then call 911 or your gas company from outside. Once it is safe, we find and fix the leak.

How much does a new gas line cost in Tampa?
A new gas line is $90 per foot of pipe. A short base charge, trenching, cutting concrete and the permit fee are listed separately on your written quote, so the total depends on the route and the appliance.
Do you work on propane lines?
Yes. Most of our gas work is natural gas, which is more common in Tampa Bay, and we run and repair propane lines too. Your propane supplier sets and fills the tank.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Do not switch lights or appliances on or off. Leave the house, then call 911 or your gas company from outside. Once it is safe, call us and we will find and fix the leak.
Can you run a gas line for a tankless water heater?
Yes. A gas tankless water heater usually needs a larger line than a tank heater. We size the line for the heater and every other gas appliance on it, and we install Rheem gas tankless water heaters too.
Does a gas line need a permit?
New gas lines and many gas repairs need a permit and an inspection. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection; the permit fee is billed separately.
How much does a gas line repair cost?
It depends on where the leak is and how much pipe has to be replaced. The diagnosis is FREE, and you get the price in writing before we start.
