Tankless Water Heater Installation Cost in Tampa

Tankless install pricing in Tampa Bay swings on six big variables, and most of them have nothing to do with the heater itself. The first is fuel type. A gas tankless install on natural gas or LP runs $2,495 to $4,495 turnkey, while an electric tankless lands between $1,895 and $2,995. Gas units cost more upfront but cut operating cost in half versus electric in a typical Tampa home.

Fourth is venting. Florida code requires PVC concentric or twin pipe venting at specific clearances from windows, soffits, and intake openings. Standard vent runs are included, but each additional 5 feet of vent past the first 10 feet adds $145 to $395.

Fifth is electrical. Power vent gas tankless and all electric units need a dedicated 120V circuit, sometimes a 240V subpanel feed for high amp electric models. If the existing closet has no outlet, add $195 to $395.

Sixth is permit and inspection through Tampa, Hillsborough, Pinellas, or Pasco County, which runs $175 to $395 and is non negotiable on every legal install.

Manufacturer rated tankless lifespan is 20 plus years, and that number is real, but only with maintenance.
