Mold on Your Evaporator Coil Is a Source of Musty Odors and Health Issues
If you smell a musty or earthy odor when your AC first starts -- especially in the morning after the system has been off overnight -- mold growth on the evaporator coil is a likely cause. In Tampa's humid conditions, the coil surface stays damp for hours after the AC shuts off, allowing mold to grow during every off-cycle. A professional coil cleaning (quoted in writing) removes existing growth, and HALO-LED installation prevents regrowth. We inspect the coil during the FREE diagnostic visit.
Call (813) 343-2212 for a FREE air quality assessment -- we inspect the coil and recommend the right solution for your Tampa home.

Choosing the right Halo-LED air purifier installation for your Tampa Bay home
HALO-LED vs Standard UV-C Lamp vs iWave Ionizer: Which Is Right for Your Tampa Home?
A standard single UV-C lamp costs $449 installed and handles biological treatment of the evaporator coil. It is effective and appropriate for most Tampa homes dealing primarily with coil mold. The iWave ionizer at $1,399 installed handles airborne particles, submicron contaminants, and VOCs throughout the home but does not have the UV component targeting the coil surface. The HALO-LED at $1,499 installed combines UV coil treatment with ionization and PHI cell technology for a comprehensive approach to biological, particulate, and chemical air quality. For Tampa homeowners with allergy, asthma, or mold sensitivity concerns, or recently renovated homes, the HALO-LED's broader coverage typically justifies the additional investment.

What Makes Tampa Halo Led Air Purifier Installation Different
Tampa Bay Mold Season Runs May Through October -- HALO-LED Runs Year-Round
Mold spore counts in Tampa Bay remain elevated from May through October, peaking during the summer rainy season when outdoor humidity runs high. When these spores are pulled into your air handler through the return duct, they encounter a cold, wet evaporator coil that is an ideal surface for growth. Without treatment, mold colonies on the evaporator coil grow and release spores back into the supply air stream with every AC cycle. The HALO-LED's broad-spectrum UV irradiation of the coil surface prevents this growth continuously -- it does not wait for the AC to run.
HALO-LED Works Differently From Standard Single-Lamp UV-C Systems
Standard single-lamp UV-C germicidal systems irradiate only the coil surface and must be positioned carefully to avoid shadowed areas where mold can still grow. The HALO-LED uses multiple UV-C LEDs plus an ionization module that produces ionized air that flows with the conditioned air throughout the duct system, reducing biological load on duct surfaces and in the living space -- not just at the coil. RGF Environmental conducted independent testing showing 99%+ reduction in selected pathogens in laboratory settings. The LED elements also outlast traditional UV-C lamps significantly.
VOCs From Tampa Renovation Materials, Cleaning Products, and Off-Gassing
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from paint, flooring adhesives, cabinetry, cleaning products, and building materials are a year-round air quality concern in Tampa homes. In a sealed, air-conditioned home, VOC concentrations can be 2-5 times higher than outdoor concentrations (EPA data). The HALO-LED's ionization and photohydroionization (PHI) cell technology breaks down VOC molecules at the air handler level before they recirculate. Tampa homeowners who have recently renovated or painted often notice marked improvement in indoor air quality within days of HALO-LED installation.
HALO-LED Whole-Home Air Purifier Installation in Tampa -- Kill Mold and Bacteria at the Source
Tampa Bay's combination of heat and high outdoor summer humidity creates the ideal conditions for mold, bacteria, and airborne contaminants to grow inside your air handler and spread through your ductwork. The HALO-LED whole-home air purifier (by RGF Environmental, a Florida-founded company) installs directly in your air handler and uses broad-spectrum UV light plus ionization to kill mold, bacteria, and VOCs at the source -- before they reach your living space. Home Therapist installs HALO-LED systems throughout Tampa Bay. FREE assessment on every call.
