what is the most expensive part to replace on an AC unit the most expensive part to replacing a unit one time is the compressor compressor the compressor of the unit is is your heart right that's that's your heart so it's a the it's the most uh difficult and expensive one to replace not necess not only because it's a expensive part also because it takes a lot of work to get done the gas as well you literally have to recover all the old gas and then add new clean gas after you get the new compressor um but that's a onetime repair um if we were to talk about like parts that break more often there's definitely the evaporator coil uh cost about the same as a compressor slightly less but it tends to break way more often than the compressor so that's that also could be the most expensive one if you consider how many times you have to replaceing in the Life ban of the unit
