With the unit running again, we kept going through our checklist, and that is where the real story was. The filters had not been changed in a couple of months, the drain line was completely clogged, and water was backing up into the secondary drain pan. The air handler was full of water. If we had only replaced the breaker and left, that clog would have turned into ceiling stains or a flooded closet within weeks. So we did a full maintenance and a complete drain line flush before we called it done. Total time from the first call: under three hours.
