Whatever system you have now, we take it out and put in a new one sized for your house. We install and service all brands; Goodman and Daikin are the brands we recommend first.

The upgrade we recommend
Quiet Side-Discharge Inverter Systems
If you are replacing anyway, look at an Elite side-discharge inverter heat pump: the Goodman GZV6S or the Daikin Fit DH6VS. They cost more up front, so we always price a Value system next to one.
- Variable speed: the inverter compressor runs slow most of the day, which keeps rooms even and pulls more moisture out of humid Tampa air.
- Quiet: no loud start and stop like a single-stage condenser.
- Small footprint: the tall, narrow cabinet fits tight side yards, roof stands and wall brackets.
- Price: Goodman GZV6S $13,022 to $16,593 or Daikin Fit DH6VS $14,281 to $18,540 installed. Elite Max (GZV7S or DH7VS) adds the highest efficiency and new copper lines.
Near the bay, the Daikin Fit cabinet is 500-hour salt-spray tested, and a coastal coil coating is quoted in writing. Compare the two side-discharge models.

Included
What Comes With Every Tampa AC Replacement
One written price for the whole job. The only thing billed separately is the county permit fee.
Manual J sizing
The new system is sized for your house, not copied from the old unit. An oversized AC cools fast and leaves the house damp.
Goodman or Daikin, R-32
Both use R-32 refrigerant, and our techs hold A2L certification for it.
Copper lines flushed and reused
Value, Premium and Elite systems reuse and flush the existing lines. New copper lines come with Elite Max.
A new thermostat
Every replacement package includes a thermostat.
Permit and inspection
We pull the permit and meet the inspector. The permit fee is billed separately.
Haul-away and cleanup
We remove and haul away the old condenser, air handler and any ductwork we replace.
Repair or replace
Should You Repair or Replace Your AC?
Not every old AC needs replacing. We give you a FREE diagnosis and put the repair price and the replacement price side by side in writing, so you can decide.
- Repair makes sense when the system is younger and the problem is a capacitor, a contactor, a drain line or a fan motor.
- Look at replacing when the compressor or coil fails on an older system, when it keeps leaking refrigerant, or when it still runs on R-22. ENERGY STAR suggests considering replacement once an AC or heat pump is more than 10 years old.
- The $5,000 rule is a rule of thumb: multiply the system’s age by the repair price. Over $5,000 usually points to replacing.

Questions
AC Replacement Questions
How much does AC replacement cost in Tampa?
Our most common replacement, a 3-ton Goodman Value AC, is $7,459 to $7,884 installed. Across all sizes and tiers, new systems run $6,643 for a small Goodman Value AC up to $18,540 for a Daikin Fit Elite inverter heat pump, and Elite Max systems run $16,145 to $23,877. The permit fee is billed separately, and the in-home estimate is FREE.
How much is a new AC unit for a Tampa home?
A complete system (outdoor unit, indoor air handler and thermostat) is priced by size and tier. A Goodman Value AC is $6,643 to $9,425 from 1.5 to 5 tons, and a Goodman Value heat pump is $7,161 to $10,688.
How long does an AC replacement take?
Most replacements are finished in one day: the old system comes out and the new one goes in the same day. When the job also includes new ductwork, we send more than one crew so it is still done in one day.
How do I know it is time to replace my AC?
Look at replacing when the compressor or coil fails on an older system, when it keeps leaking refrigerant, when it still runs on R-22, or when repairs keep coming. ENERGY STAR suggests considering replacement once an AC or heat pump is more than 10 years old. We give you a FREE diagnosis and price both the repair and a new system.
What size AC does my Tampa home need?
It depends on the house, not just the square footage: insulation, windows, sun exposure and ductwork all change the answer. We run a Manual J load calculation on every estimate. On our last 22 Tampa replacements, 12 were 2.5 or 3 tons.
What brands do you install?
Goodman and Daikin are our preferred brands, from Value to Elite Max, and both use R-32 refrigerant. We install and service all brands, so if you want a different brand we can quote it.
Do I need a permit to replace my AC in Tampa?
Yes. A replacement needs a Hillsborough County mechanical permit and an inspection. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection and meet the inspector. The permit fee is billed separately.
Do you replace the copper refrigerant lines?
On Value, Premium and Elite systems we flush and reuse the existing copper lines, and new copper lines come with Elite Max. If the old lines are damaged or undersized, we tell you and quote new lines at $1,949, up to 50 feet.
Is the thermostat included?
Yes. Every replacement package includes a thermostat. Smart thermostats such as an Ecobee or a Nest are an upgrade, priced on your quote.
Do you offer financing for AC replacement?
Yes. Financing is available with rates from 0% APR for qualifying customers, through Wisetack and other lenders. See our financing page for the options.
Do you haul away the old AC?
Yes. We remove and haul away the old condenser, air handler and any ductwork we replace, and we clean up before we leave.
