What we do
Air Duct Replacement and Repair in Tampa
In most Tampa homes the ducts run through a hot attic. When they tear, sag or lose their insulation, you pay to cool the attic. We repair what can be repaired and replace the rest.
FREE attic inspection
Signs it is time
How to Tell Your Ductwork Needs Replacing
Ducts fail slowly, so the signs are easy to miss. If you see two or more of these, call for a FREE inspection with photos.
- Rooms at the end of the house never get as cool as the room near the thermostat.
- The AC runs for a long time and the power bill keeps climbing.
- Dust builds up fast, or you see dark marks around the vents.
- Flex duct in the attic is torn, flattened, sagging onto the ceiling or missing its outer jacket.
- Water stains on the ceiling under a sweating duct.
Leaks can often be sealed instead of replaced. We tell you when a repair is enough.

Tampa attics
Why Tampa Ducts Fail
Most homes here have the ducts in the attic, the hottest place in the house.
Attic heat
Heat breaks down the jacket and insulation of older flex duct.
Humidity and sweating
A duct with thin or torn insulation sweats in humid air. The water drips onto the drywall and can grow mold.
Bad installs
Runs that are too long, kinked, crushed or hung without support starve rooms of air, even when the AC is new.
Rooms not cooling evenly? Call or text us. The duct inspection and the estimate are FREE, and there is no trip fee.

Questions
Ductwork Replacement Questions
How much does it cost to replace ductwork in Tampa?
On our price book, R-6 flex duct is $639 per drop and R-8 is $749 per drop. A partial replacement runs $3,010 to $4,730 and a full house runs $7,740 to $12,578. The inspection and the written estimate are FREE.
Do you repair ducts or only replace them?
We do both. If only a few joints leak or one run came loose, we hand-seal it with mastic and UL-181 tape or fix that run. We only recommend new ducts when the old ones are torn, crushed, sweating or missing insulation.
How long does it take to replace ductwork?
One day. We send more than one crew, so a whole-house duct replacement, or a new AC plus new ducts, is finished in a single day. We haul away the old ductwork.
Is R-8 duct required by code in Hillsborough County?
No. R-6 flex passes Hillsborough County inspection, and it is what we use on almost every job. R-8 is an upgrade with more insulation for $749 per drop instead of $639.
Is it worth it to replace ductwork?
It is when the ducts leak or have lost their insulation. ENERGY STAR says about 20 to 30 percent of the air in a typical duct system is lost to leaks, holes and poor connections (source). In Tampa that air is lost into a hot attic.
How do I know if my ductwork needs replacing?
Uneven temperatures between rooms, rising power bills, fast dust buildup, a musty smell, ceiling stains under a duct, or flex duct that is torn or sagging in the attic. We inspect for FREE and show you photos.
Do you have to open walls to replace ductwork?
Usually not. In most Tampa homes the ducts run through the attic, so we work from up there.
Does homeowners insurance cover air duct replacement?
Usually not for age or wear. If a covered event such as a roof leak damaged them, your insurer may pay. We give you photos and a written estimate for the claim.
Do you do Aeroseal duct sealing?
No. We seal leaks by hand with mastic and UL-181 tape, or we replace the run. Sealing is quoted after a FREE inspection.
