Plumbing Emergencies We Handle Day and Night
If water is going where it should not, or nothing is draining, call us any time.

Do this first
What to Do While You Wait
A few minutes of the right steps limits the water damage.
- Close the main water valve. It is usually near the water meter or where the main line enters the house.
- Turn off the water heater: the breaker for electric, the gas valve for gas.
- Open a faucet at the lowest point of the house to drain the pipes.
- Sewer backup: stop running water and do not flush any toilet until the line is cleared.
- Skip chemical drain cleaners. They rarely clear a main line and they are hard on old pipes.
Smell gas? Leave the house, do not switch anything on or off, and call the gas company from outside first.

Tampa plumbing
Why Tampa Plumbing Fails Without Warning
Most emergency calls trace back to the age of the pipes and what is in the water.
Polybutylene pipes
Gray plastic supply pipe, common in homes built from about 1978 to 1995, fails from the inside out. One burst usually means more are coming, so we talk about a PEX-A repipe once the leak is fixed.
Old cast iron and clay sewer lines
Older Tampa neighborhoods like Seminole Heights, Tampa Heights and Hyde Park still have cast iron and clay drains that scale up, crack and let oak roots in.
Hard water on valves and lines
City of Tampa water averaged 10.8 grains per gallon in 2024. Scale stiffens shutoff valves and wears out supply lines, so they fail when you finally need them.
Water heaters in closets and attics
A heater in a hall closet, a garage or the attic can flood a room before anyone notices. A flood stop shutoff, $300, closes the water when it senses a leak.
Water going where it should not? Call or text (813) 343-2212 now. The diagnosis is FREE, day or night, with no after-hours fee.

Questions
Emergency Plumbing Questions
Are you really open 24 hours?
Yes. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends and holidays. The only days we close are Thanksgiving and Christmas.
How much does an emergency plumber cost in Tampa?
The visit and the diagnosis are FREE at any hour. Common emergency repairs are a clogged drain at $279, a main sewer line cleared through a cleanout at $349 ($549 with the toilet pulled) and a toilet reset at $289. You approve the written price before any work.
Do you charge more for nights, weekends or holidays?
There is no after-hours, night, weekend or emergency fee for the visit or the diagnosis. Repairs are priced from our price book and written on your quote before we start.
What counts as a plumbing emergency?
A burst or leaking pipe, water coming through a ceiling or wall, a sewer backup, an overflowing toilet you cannot stop, a leaking water heater, no water to the house, or a gas smell near a water heater or appliance.
What should I do if a pipe bursts?
Close the main water valve, usually near the meter or where the main line enters the house. Turn off the water heater, open a low faucet to drain the pipes, move valuables away from the water, and call us.
What should I do if sewage is backing up?
Stop running water and do not flush any toilet. Every drop you send down comes back up at the lowest drain. We clear the main line, often through the outside cleanout.
Do you fix gas leaks?
Yes, we repair natural gas and propane lines under our plumbing license, CFC1431159. If you smell gas, leave the house and call the gas company first; we repair the line once it is safe.
Can you find a leak I cannot see?
Yes. Our FREE basic leak search includes checking whether the water meter keeps running with all the water off, which tells us if there is a leak under the slab or in the yard. In-depth tests are quoted in writing.
Can you fix it tonight?
Often. Most emergency fixes use parts our trucks carry, such as valves, toilet parts and drain tools. We give you an arrival window when you call, and if a part has to be ordered we stop the leak first and tell you up front.
