How do you know if your AC unit is low on freon or needs a recharge? For you to know if an AC unit is low on freon or needs to be recharged, you need a special tool. You know, Hback gauges we call it, right? You need to put the gauges on and see the gas pressures on the unit. There are a couple ways for you to know without using the gauges, but it's never going to be accurate, right? If your unit is low on freon, there's a specific range of how low it is that could cause the unit to freeze up. I'm saying like block of ice. So, you're going to see ice everywhere in the units. If you see that, most likely low on freon. If it's lower than that range that causes it to freeze up, the easy way to know it is you can touch the suction line on the AC unit outside and that's a bigger pipe out of the two. If you touch that pipe and it's not beer can cold, it's no good. Something is going on and most likely it's low on freon. [Music]
