How can you tell if your AC compressor is burnt or has gone bad? Telling a bad compressor from a burnt one is basically the same, right? The compressor is not going to run. That's it. So, when any compressor goes bad or is burnt or is grounded, which is another issue that you normally see, it might be bypass or something similar, the compressor is not going to run. Or if it's running, it's not cooling at all. You might hear it running, but it's not compressing enough or it's just bypassing inside, but cooling is going to be out of the question. You're going to feel it right away. The heat is going to start rising inside the house. And in the case of being burned, grounded, it doesn't run. Might even trip the breaker. As soon as you turn the breaker on, it rips the back off. That's an easy way to figure it out. [Music]
