All right, today we're in South Tampa and starting the fourth mini split of the week. If you ever wonder what actually goes into one of these, here's the whole thing start to finish. First up is the head unit. This is the part that goes inside and blows the cold air. You want to get it high on the wall and nice and level so it cools the room evenly and it does not leak any water. Next, we're running the lines. This is what connects the inside unit to the outside unit. You got the refrigerant lines, the drain line, and the wiring. They're all bundled together and run through the wall. We have to take our time here to seal it up properly and to give it some slope so that the drain flows properly. This unit needs its own independent electrical circuit, so we're running electrical across the attic from one side of the garage to the other. This is the part that people don't usually see, but it's a big part of the job. The reason a mini split is so good for a garage is because it's not connected to the main house. It works on its own, it doesn't need any ductwork connection, and it is very efficient.
